Refunds

If you pay monthly or annually in advance and your plans change, you can request a refund for the days you are not going to use.

You can't request a refund for:

We must receive your request at least seven days before the period you are claiming for. 

Your request must include: 

We charge £10 for refund requests.

Reimbursements

NHS patients

If you are clinically assessed as too ill to travel to an appointment on public transport you may be eligible to claim back the Congestion Charge from your treating hospital. You will not be able to get a refund for CC Auto Pay (starts 4 January 2011), so make sure you pay in another way.

NHS staff

You can get a refund from your NHS organisation if you use your vehicle for official business and claim travel expenses. Your NHS organisation must be registered with us.

To get a refund you must:

2. Be responding to an emergency when on call. This includes locums and agency staff.

You'll have to pay the full £10 Congestion Charge for your journey and reclaim the money from your NHS organisation. We'll reimburse the NHS organisation. 

You can't:

Fire fighters

You can get a refund from your employer if you're a fire fighter employed by the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA) and use your vehicle to travel on official business.

You'll have to pay the full £10 charge for your journey and then reclaim the money from your employer. We'll reimburse LFEPA.
