Travelling to and from Zone 1

60+ London Oyster photocard and Older Person's Freedom Pass

During the trial, holders of 60+ London Oyster photocard and Older Person's Freedom Passes will be able to travel free between 04:30 and 09:00 on rail, bus and tram services in London on Fridays.

Exclusions, restrictions and more details

  • The trial only applies to pay as you go single fares and daily caps when using contactless or an Oyster card
  • TfL paper tickets bought during the trial period times will not be valid on National Rail services. Customers are advised to use pay as you go on contactless or Oyster card rather than buy a paper ticket
  • Journeys from Heathrow that start, end, or go through Zone 1 are excluded and will remain peak fare throughout the trial
  • Bus and tram fares are a flat fare no matter the time of travel, so there'll be no change to these fares
  • Peak hours are 06:30-09:30 and 16:00-19:00
  • Friday 29 March 2024 is a bank holiday in the UK. So all rail fares are off-peak on that day
  • The trial will have no impact on customers who have weekly, monthly or annual Travelcards
