Cycle freight
Cargo bikes are zero emission and require less road space than cars or vans, offering a good alternative for deliveries that can help improve local air quality and ease congestion. A charity in Islington has made financial savings of around £140 per month by switching from diesel van deliveries to cargo bike couriers.
Waste consolidation
Team up with neighbours to get the best deal from a supplier. Businesses in Bond Street successfully set up a preferred supplier 'Buyer's Club', resulting in waste-related vehicle trips being reduced from 144 to 9 per day, a 94% fall.
Retiming deliveries
Aim to move deliveries outside the morning peak. A national health and beauty retailer cut journey times by 18.5%, NOx by 28%, and fuel usage by 3.2%.
