How to apply

The Bus & Tram Discount photocard is available to those people living in a London borough who are receiving Income Support or Employment and Support Allowance, or who have been receiving Jobseeker Allowance payments for at least 13 weeks.

Income Support and Employment and Support Allowance claimants

The Bus & Tram Discount photocard is available if you receive Income Support or Employment and Support Allowance payments and live in a London borough.

To confirm if you live in a London borough, you can check online or call our helpline on 0845 330 9876.

You must be aged between 18 and 60 and not have any other travel concession such as a Freedom Pass or New Deal.

If you are eligible for the Bus & Tram Discount photocard, you can download the application form (PDF 93KB) or pick up a copy from any Post Office in the Greater London area.

Once you have completed your application form, you need to take it to the Post Office along with each of the following:

The Post Office staff will validate your application and issue your Bus & Tram Discount photocard.

Jobseeker Allowance claimants

You cannot apply using the form available on this website. Instead, ask for a special application form at your Jobcentre Plus branch at your 13 week interview. You must complete the form with a Jobcentre Plus member of staff who will validate your application.

You must be aged between 18 and 60 and not be receiving any other travel concession such as a Freedom Pass or New Deal.

Please present your completed and validated application form at a Post Office along with the following:

The Post Office staff will verify your proof of identity and photographs and if correct will issue your Bus & Tram Discount photocard.
