New Deal is a Government programme that aims to give unemployed people the help and support they need to get into work.
If you have a New Deal photocard you can buy the following tickets at reduced rates:
- Buy and use child-rate Tube, DLR and London Overground cash single and return tickets
- Get an Oyster card to buy Travelcards and reduced-rate Bus Passes
- Use Oyster to pay as you go at 50 per cent of the adult Oyster rate
How to get your New Deal photocard
You must apply for a New Deal photocard through your local Job Centre or Social Security Office. Once you have your photocard, you can get an Oyster card at Tube stations, London Travel information Centres and Oyster Ticket Stops. You will need to show your New Deal photocard when you apply for your Oyster card, so that your New Deal concession can be put on the card to ensure that you get child-rate tickets.
