One of the initial barriers to participation in our project was the preconception that cycling isn't 'cool' (which incidentally has now been thoroughly squished!) so it was great to be able to show it can be glam too!!
— 2007 Community Group Winner
Introduction
The community awards are for London based groups working at grass roots level who lead from within the community to enable or encourage members to include cycling in their lifestyle. Only community groups who have received a TfL grant through the Cycling London Promotion Partnership Community Grants Scheme are eligble for the awards.
Note: This does not include large London wide, or UK wide organisations which run some projects at a grass roots level but have an umbrella organisation and strategy. For example the London Cycling Campaign (LCC).
