Proposed Tube strike - 6 and 7 September

A 24 hour strike by RMT and TSSA union members is set to affect Tube services from early evening on Monday 6 September and throughout Tuesday 7 September.

We'll run the best service we can. Check before you travel and please use an alternative route or method of transport if possible. Visit our strike page for more detailed information.

Stations

  • Closed stations

    • Blackfriars

      Closed until late 2011. Please use Temple and Mansion House stations. Tickets are also accepted on bus 388 between Mansion House and Embankment.

      Journey times may be increased by up to 10 minutes.

    • Custom House

      Closed Monday 6 September due to planned engineering work.

      Please use nearby Prince Regent or Royal Victoria station instead.

    • Latimer Road

      Closed westbound until Saturday 4 December.

      London Underground tickets are valid on any reasonable local London Bus route between Ladbroke Grove, Latimer Road, Wood Lane and Shepherd's Bush Green.

      Journey times may be extended by up to 15 minutes.

  • Station maintenance

    (lifts, escalators etc.)

    • Bank

      Major escalator refurbishment work is taking place. Between 0700 and 1000 on weekdays the Central line ticket hall will operate as exit only. Please follow the signage within the station for an alternative route to the Central line platforms. There is no step free access between the DLR and street level. Please use alternative routes.

    • Canary Wharf

      Reduced escalator service until early October 2010.

    • Covent Garden

      GOING TO COVENT GARDEN? Covent Garden station gets very busy at weekends and in the evenings, but you can avoid the crowds by walking there from Leicester Square (6 minutes) or Holborn (9 minutes). The short walk is clearly signposted above ground and maps are on display at both stations.

    • Embankment

      Reduced escalator service until mid September 2010.

    • Green Park

      Reduced escalator service until mid November 2010.

    • Harrow & Wealdstone Station

      No step-free access to the southbound Bakerloo line platform and the northbound London Midland platform due to a faulty lift.

    • Heathrow Central (1-2-3)

      FLYING FROM HEATHROW? You are advised to check in as early as possible. Check the instructions on your ticket, from your travel agent or booking website or with your airline directly. Before travelling visit www.baa.com/heathrow or contact your airline to confirm which terminal you require. Please note that Oyster Cards, Travelcards and Freedom Passes are not valid on Heathrow Express services, or on the Heathrow Connect between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow.

    • King's Cross St.Pancras

      No step free access to the Victoria Line platforms due to a faulty lift.

    • King's Cross St.Pancras

      Reduced escalator service until further notice.

    • Knightsbridge

      Reduced escalator service until late October 2010.

    • Leicester Square

      Reduced escalator service until mid September 2010.

    • North Greenwich

      Reduced escalator service until late December 2010.

    • Oxford Circus

      Reduced escalator service until early June 2011. At busy times you may find it easier to use nearby Bond Street, Piccadilly Circus or Tottenham Court Road stations.

    • Piccadilly Circus

      Reduced escalator service until early November 2010.

    • Regent's Park

      Reduced lift service until mid-October due to planned lift maintenance work. The station is usually busy during weekday morning and evening peaks and also at weekends between 1100 - 1900. To avoid queuing at these busy times please start or finish your journey at nearby Baker Street or Great Portland Street stations, which are a short walk or bus ride away.

    • Tottenham Court Road

      Reduced escalator service until early October 2010.

    • Warren Street

      Reduced escalator service until late September 2010. Additionally exit only between 0830 and 0930 on weekdays. Use Goodge Street and Euston stations as alternatives.

    • Waterloo

      Reduced escalator service until late September 2010.
