WORKS ON THE EAST LONDON LINE: The line is closed to enable works to upgrade it to be part of the new London Overground network. Replacement bus service ELW operates between Wapping, Shadwell and Whitechapel.

Buses operate as follows

Every 15 minutes daily (Monday-Sunday)

First bus from Whitechapel Station: 0530 (Mon-Fri) 0520 (Sat) 0705 (Sun)
First bus from Wapping Station: 0521 (Mon-Fri) 0510 (Sat) 0640 (Sun)

Last bus from Whitechapel Station: 0103 (Mon-Sat) 0030 (Sun)
Last bus from Wapping Station: 0051 (Mon-Sat) 0006 (Sun)

Whitechapel - Shoreditch
Every 30 minutes Monday to Friday between 0730-1030 and 1530-2030.
Every 30 minutes on Sunday 0700-1530.

You must have a valid ticket before boarding replacement buses.

Replacement bus service ELC has now been withdrawn.

Bus route 225 provides an alternative service between Canada Water, Surrey Quays and New Cross. Valid London Underground tickets will be accepted on route 225 between Canada Water and New Cross via Surrey Quays and will continue to be accepted on route 381 between Rotherhithe and Surrey Quays via Canada Water.

We are progressing well with the building of the East London line extension, which will open as part of London Overground in Summer 2010.
