Northbound and southbound direction. To enable contractors working on behalf of Transport for London to carry out refurbishment works in the northbound bore of Blackwall Tunnel, from Sunday to Thursday, the northbound bore of the tunnel will be closed nightly from 21:00 hrs to 05:00 hrs the following morning. During the closure periods the southbound bore will be closed to southbound traffic which will be diverted to other river crossings. Northbound traffic will be diverted via the southbound bore. Routine tunnel maintenance works will be carried out on Sunday mornings between 01:00hrs and 08:00hrs. Both tunnel bores will remain open in both directions on Friday nights. These closures will be ongoing until December 2012. Daily activity between 21:00 and 05:00.
09 Feb 10 : Blackwall Tunnel is currently open. The tunnel will be closed nightly from 2100hrs for maintenance until December 2012. The tunnel will remain open on Friday nights only each week.

This will be repeated every weekend until Monday 15th March 2010 at the same times. There will also be a full week long closure from Saturday 13th Feb to Monday 22nd Feb. The bridge will remain open for pedestrians and cycles.
