Have seen the posters of these on the tube and they've really grabbed my attention. A superb idea and great art direction, some of the best Art on the Underground ads I've seen, really made my morning. You should make the quote book and posters commercially available - and maybe get more of the drivers to read the quotes out. I think London needs to be a bit more philosophical in the mornings.

I love this idea. It helps us in our daily life. It inspired this quote from. Yogi Amrit Desai You Begin with you You Travel with you You Arrive with you The journey to truth is from the alone to the alone.

I think this is a great project. Unfortunately my regular journey in to work doesn't include the Picadilly line, but I have seen the posters up and think they look fabulous. It would be great to see jpeg of all the posters online, or for them to be made available to buy. I'm a big fan of the design that the Underground produces, keep it up!

I love the combination of art available on all the London platforms, under and above the ground. A key series of art work I like to look out for on the platforms of London are the posters depicting the hard working staff of London Underground, who's dedication is such that the posters refer to how they are entitled to work without the fear of violence and abuse. When viewing this art work I find myself trying to guess what will appear next in this series of messages? Perhaps a poster telling us lucky travelers how we are entitled to staff who actually offer a service and when asked, up to the minute travel information. Truly inspirational, keep up the artwork TFL!

Beautiful, powerful and almost sad. I am fortunate as we have one of Mr Duncan's sculptures in Leytonstone. Our 'Green Man' is a source of inspiration to me, personally and photographically which I have shared with many friends and now he is iconic. Truly amazing work which embodies nature, the past, myth and memory. B Maravolo

Just read the 'Central line whispers' story, thought it was really good; loved the twists, turns and intrigue - especially the ever-so-slightly risqué ending! Staff on the line are clearly an imaginative bunch! Congrats to all the staff and those involved.

I've just started to read these - this a wonderful idea, brilliantly executed. As a video artist working mostly with videoblogging, it inspires me all kinds of thoughts about how video could also be used to connect people underground.

This series of Art works is fantastic - I'm not a person who likes art per-se or goes to many galleries etc (no I don't consider pickled cows/unmade beds art either!) HOWEVER... I LOVE THIS SERIES! I can relate to each of the posters and they are mirrors of the thoughts that travelling on the Underground provoke. Little snapshots of poetry that are just big enough to digest when do the mile-a-minute walk along a platform or skipping down an row of stairs. They are simple, effective and bring a smile to my day when I see them (or a row of them going alongside an escalator or running the length of a walkway.

re:jeremy-deller-tubeart
I would also like a copy of this book simply because it would add some increased interest to my journey (if it will increase my chances I'd also like to volunteer for a late night track walk to - one of my fantasies...) I consider the Underground the Lymphatic System of London - an essential circulatory system, often under appreciated that helps cells (us!) get from A to B. Many people only pay it attention when is all goes wrong but for day-to-day runnings (and regularity) the Tube is an excellent space (value-for-money leaves a lot to be desired though that can be said of London's public transport in general). The idea to give drivers the opportunity to personalise the multitude of mundane messages they are required inflict upon the travelling public is an inspired way of helping to reduce the stressful and often monotonous journeys Londoners have to make each day. The most enjoyable rides I have on the Underground are when drivers make little jokes over the tannoy and encourage po-faced passengers to crack a smile or even for the more brave to make eye-contact and laugh with each other. Next to these for enjoyment are the Art installations/displays/performances - WE NEED MORE pictures, poetry, music or beautiful architecture/design on the tube. More posters like the Off To Work (Nylon Uniform) and Vintage/WW2 series, more musicians and installations like those at Gloucester Rd. The Underground structure is already beautiful from an architectural point of view, all it needs is some detail to the paintwork a la columns on the district line platforms at South Kensington (love the flower pots and wrought-iron work there too) at the older stops and uplighting at the newer stations like that of Westminster to highlight the fact. I could (and often do) wax lyrical about the wonderous structure that is the London Underground Network but I shall summarise for those that don't have all day - to enable passengers to get more enjoyment for minimal input encoura

The constant, annoying, infantalising useless, brain-numbing announcements on the London Underground are horrendous enough. The thought that you are going to try and pounds our brains with even more of your "psychological warfare", to quote Jeremy Deller - this time in the guise of "philosophical" quips - makes me seize up at the thought of having to get on the Tube again. I've been away from London for some weeks, but cannot bear the thought of going back purely because of this. You should have gone with Deller's first suggestion of no announcements for a day (forever would be better). If you are going to make announcements can't they just be minimal and only when actually needed? And please, reduce the volume in the lift at Oakwood Station.

I don't understand why tube announcements cannot be stopped for a day, to be honest there is so much variability between various journeys that I have a hard time believing that there are strict rules on the subject. Often I have been on the tube for 30minutes plus without hearing a single announcment. Other times there is one every minute. The more you repeat something, the less likely people are to pay attention, travelling abroad we realise just how ridiculous the announcments on our tubes have become (indeed even a trip on some overground rail trains illustrates that fact). I suggest some clearer guidelines are made on the subject and the frequency reduced to only those essential announcements.

I heard the report on this project this morning on Radio 4, what a charming idea! I use the Piccadilly Line to get to and from work each day and now I'm full of anticipation that I might be lucky enough to hear one of these interventions from the staff to brighten up my day. Art is more than decoration which this project proves, it's got something to say. Art on the Underground is really exploring the exciting potential of their unique venue and audience, I can't wait to see what comes next!

I have been a lifelong fan of Richard's work. I also commute daily from Bath near where he lives, to London everyday, and have an annual season ticket for the underground. I was sorry not to be able to get one of the 60,000 posters handed out on the Jubilee Line but I dont use it and didnt know about the poster til the day after. Is there any way you can help me to get one or two of them please, please, please???

Free posters
Hi Guys, I was on my way to work earlier this week and one of your team handed me a rolled up poster at Straftford station. I thought it was a great gesture, tucked it in to my bag and really looked forward to getting to my desk and opening it up (I am a big fan of 'art on the underground'). I followed that big auction of about 50 (?) posters from famous artists and secretly hoped for something snazzy and colourful to stick up on my desk By the way - I appreciate you guys probably woke up quite early to hand these out - so thanks v much for the effort I got to my desk, glanced out of the window at the sunny day I would be spending indoors and opened the poster. Hmm. An A3 print of a barren slate quarry, complete with dreary grey mist AAAGGHHH!!!!! I am half asleep in the morning. I need coffee. I need sunshine. I need music. I need a poster that doesn't make me want to lie in bed and feel sorry for myself. Awesome idea, but we are simple poeple who use the tube and we need simple things that make us happy. Can we have something a bit more fun next time? My team of 8 people all think the same by the way. Keep up the good work - you guys do some great stuff David

Stratford Tube Station
Hello, I was directed toward your exhibition and glad of it. A fabulous collection of sugar sachets which really was something I am interested in, cuisine packing in itself, however I felt that the exhibition was let down due to the dust on the glass of the casings. This is especially noticeable on the top of the milk bottle stand. I can well imagine how dusty a station cn get in twenty four hours, I used to work in a listed building (a Pump House) along the Thames and overnight a layer of dust would appear visibly on all surfaces, however I feel that this could be overcome with periodical cleaning during the day. A point of note would be the attention paid to the front glass door (finger smudges) of the food establishment 'Apostrophe' next to Curtain Road near Shawditch which staff take turns in polishing throughout the day. Very good exhibition though. Especially for a Station.

we don;t see any art we only see adverts, and the homogenization of art forms and we're tired of musak versions of careless whisper. great idea but needs to be more democratic with more varied forms. perhaps if art on the underground didn;t take up an advertising space there could be some really innovative art exhibited down there.

Life
London life is a dreary thing. Lot's of grime and not enough bling. Art on the Underground, it has often been said. Is the reason I need, to get out of bed. It won't save lives. Or bring an end to the crunch. But it does bring a smile when I nip out for lunch.

art and poems on the underground
London's Underground inspires and entertains its users daily through thought-provoking art and poetry posted throughout tubes and stations. I have traveled in many cities' public transportation systems throughout the world, but none have provided this kind of homage to the arts - and its especially appreciated now that I live and work in London and can continuously enjoy the rotating exhibits. Occaisonally letting riders bring a piece home for free is especially noteworthy, as it breaks down barriers between the art-haves and the art-havenots. KEEP IT UP!

I can't believe how split opinion is on these! I was coming online to see if I could get a copy of 'looking back the way we had come' for my first childs' nursery. I'm currently 8 months pregnant, and it may be the hormones, but travelling up the escalator at Moorgate every morning, looking at these posters makes me think about my family back in Belfast and how I'm about to have the next generation. I'd like to have the poster with photos of our family around it on the nursery wall - I did consider trying to take one but thought a criminal record best avoided!

Yes, I like them. They are evocative, simple and brave. The full points and commas used at this size make me smile a little. We can be enjoy the shapes for their starry quality, but I think Johnston, who seems to have been a very correct and conservative sort of chap, would frown at somebody exploiting quirks of his type designed to cope with newsprint at text sizes in this way.

I travel everyday on the tube and every time I see a poster from this series by Anna Barriball (which seems to be everywhere), it never fails to irritate me. I love art and I do enjoy reading and seeing the other 'art on the underground' posters but feel that this particular series is a very poor choice for the tube as the disjointed texts do not make any sense to people who read it without understanding the context. Only reason why I am on this site is because these posters have been annoying me for months that I made it a point to remember the artist's name from the poster so I can look it up on the web to understand what this jumble of words meant...that's how much it has annoyed me. I also know for a fact that I'm not alone in feeling this way about them! Commuters only have a few seconds to see these posters and art that can touch people and convey a message in that time would be a better use of that space.

I'm amazed that anyone could find these works anything other than evocative and actually rather beautiful - they're sort of serendipitous haikus IMHO. Perhaps too much time being compressed into sweltering rush hour tube trains has desensitised some people to the point where they can longer relate to this art? ;-)

Just wanted to know why the Lyn Hilaire Exhibition: "Black Dolls" was given the Title "Black Dolls"?...surely any one looking at the exhibition would be able to figure out the ethnicity of the Dolls put on exhibition...I think the deeper question that needs an answer is how can this title be justified? (note from Art on the Underground - this exhibition is titled this way because that is what the collector calls her collection)

Absolute rubbish. I realise that contemporary art can be anything, and take any form, but surely if art is going to be commissioned to be shown on the Underground, it should be in some way beautiful or inspiring - not abstract text written in the same boring, horrible font as Transport for London's, and black text on a white background. Whoever commissioned this needs their head read - or needs to spend some actual time travelling on the Tube to realise that what might make everyone's journey a bit more pleasant is something beautiful. (Yes, not all art needs to be 'attractive'. But if anything needs prettying up - it's the Underground).

Does anybody know the variant of the typeface that's used on these posters? It's obviously a version of Johnston, but with little scallops on the dot of the 'i', full stops and so on. It looks substantially different, and slightly old-fashioned, subtly standing out from the rest of the tube signage around it. Lovely posters, by the way.

I really appreciate the platform for art poster campaign, all of the posters have made a welcome change to the usual advertisements we are met with on the tube. I feel the posters are a decent way of putting art in the public eye in an unobtrusive manner, but in a way that lets a lot of people see work they would never normally come across. In particular, I have a fondness for the encouraging message of the Mark Titchner poster, which I like to think spoke to many others who were shuffling to their uninspiring jobs (like me) and tried to urge them to help themselves. I hope your campaign will continue to push a variety of artworks out of the gallery into spaces that are overly dominated by unattractive advertisements.

Art on the underground
I love the art on the underground. My favourite is the Mark Titchner poster. Earlier this year I made some big changes in my life and when I see the poster it reminds me that I got myself out a difficult place and into one where I'm much happier. I also think the message is very positive one: in times when people can be too quick to blame other people for their situation, the poster reminds us that we are all responsible for ourselves and that we don't have to wait for the government or someone else to make a change - we can do it ourselves. Having art on the underground is a simple step, but makes people happy, and adds a little extra to your journey. Thank you!
Helen

"...you can change it"
Just wanted to say what a great idea the art on the underground is. I have been quite inspired by seeing Titchner's “if you don’t like your life…” each day as I repeat the same journey to/from the office. The artwork itself is catching, the sentiment is powerful and its subterranean location, repeated intermittently as you travel up and down the escalators gives it an even greater impact. I look forward to seeing more artwork that I can relate to on the underground, from this artist and others too.

Good day I have seen a set of 5 Photograph posters on the upper walkway (between earls court road & district line lifts) at earl's court station. They are photographs from a wheelchair user's perspective. I feel that this type of artwork is BRILLIANT and MEANINGFULL unlike alot of this modern art stuff that is just strange. It is a pitty that more peoplle dop not get to see it.

Art on the Underground
I really like the art on the underground programme. Commuting is boring and this has brightened things up a bit. My favourite poster has been the 'if you don't like your life change it'. It really caught my eye, I thought it was very appropriate for all the fed up commuters. On the odd occasion I go through Gloucester Road I always look to see if there's an exhibition. I'm also guessing the elephant at Waterloo is yours? I love it! Couldn't Bethnal Green station have something? It's THE most dull station ever!!

I work for a large award winning special effects company. Every day I come into Soho after battling the rush hour on the Central Line into Oxford Street. In my area of work (TV and commercials) the high standard of creativity and excellence is now something I am numb to. There was once a time I was excited by the hyper reality of the ad world and the standard of creativity it could produce for TV. But now I am tired, bitter and over worked...and left wondering why did I that Fine Art degree? I think London is the best city in the world. Nowhere else is art, music, and a more colourful culture so accessible. But I also find it hard to exist at such a manic pace. Sometimes you need a reminder... A reminder that you only have one life and if you want to be happier you need to make the necessary changes. That reminder came in the form of Mark Titchner’s Poster: ‘If you don’t like your life, you can change it.’ Such simple words backed by the very organization that gets me to and from work every day- TFL. Life is hard. But instead of talking about it- do something about it! Thank you Mark for pointing out the obvious.

As a frequent user of the London Underground, I was delighted to see a copy of the "Life's a Laugh" poster at my local Tube Station. Every morning and evening before and after work, I would see this and it would bring a smile to my face, which is exactly what we need. Would love to see more art like this on the tube that brings a bit of joy to what can sometimes be an extreamly painful and tedious journey. Thanks

I have always loved the London Transport posters and because I live in Kew, possess the most beautiful book on posters "By Underground to Kew - London Transport posters 1908 to the present". Then I travelled 3 years to Aldgate East and was enchanted by the platform art at Gloucester Road tube station - especially the illuminated ones and the glass ones which added a mystical enchantment to the whole place. On reflection and with hindsight, as I no longer travel to London as other commitments keep me away, I think that without knowing it at the time, you imbibe the artwork that surrounds you and it makes a difference to an otherwise often arduous journey. These impressions stay with you for ever, as I realize as I sit here typing this comment, and in a perverse way, have served to make the memories of travelling on the tube a throughly enjoyable one!

If you don't like your life you can change it
In connection with my work I need to make extensive use of the underground system. The usual bland advertisements, requests for money and mundane artwork have not even attempted to lift my mood or those of other travellers as we venture into the bowels of London. The mood is set. The temperature raised. Eye contact is to be avoided at all costs lest you should happen upon one of London's many short fused people. So we all take in the surroundings as best we can and to a degree seek solace in them or our i-pods. With Mark Titchner's work 'If you don't like your life you can change it' I was pleasantly surprised. It's a bold statement. And in addition to this it is undergirded with colours and patterns that reflect the rejuvenation that the artist's work offers us. In travelling underground we are faced with the choice to actually live life not just to survive it. Mark has used a stylised form to project the letters and this works well. After being impressed, I contacted the Art on the Underground people and was pleasantly surprised again when told that I could have a poster. I took up this offer and also got one for a family member who was very impressed with the sentiment of it also. In conclusion, please invite Mark Titchner to do more work on the underground. It has made the ritual of travelling underground more interesting.

I came across your Art o the Underground posters through your website. I live near Newark on Trent and only come to London every couple of months to see exhibitions ( Fine Art student). I had noticed the Mark Titchner posters on the walls of the Underground but did not realise that the public could get one!. I contacted your office and they were extremely helpful and best of all provided me with one of the posters. Very many thanks

I love this poster - it serves as a daily reminder of what is important as I squeeze on the tube in the morning. Such a refreshing break from the plastic surgery adverts. Art on the Undergound is a great initiation - long may it continue to be a great success!!

Hi, I'm a fan generally of the public art work on the London Underground and will even travel to certain stations to see pieces if I have the time :) I hope TFL have big plans for public art across its services during the London Olympics? Love the free posters too, nice touch :)

Arriving at Heathrows terminal four is usually the end to an epic journey for me, and usually I trudge through "just wanting to get home" This time, though, I noticed the photographs around the station and stood, staring for ten minutes [much to my partners annoyance] A great commision. Well done.

Thank you nso much for all the exhibitions! It makes my journeys much more pleasant. It's a great way to share contemporary art, wich, instead of being a specialist thing, can now be seen by a much broader audience. I especialy loved the Chiho Aoshima exhibition, wich was pure magic, and i often made a stop at Gloucester Road, just to take the time to look at those beautiful artwork. I would love to see exhibition by James Jarvis, Fafi, Kaws, Murakami or Mr. I would also be happy to discover new artists. Thank you again for making my journeys more joyful and beautifull. I wich all the stations could be like that!!!

The Mark Titchner poster is, I think, the best of the current 'Art on the Underground' works. It's a simple truth that often doesn't occur to the world weary. The poster seems to shout at you and its repeated appearance throughout the tube network is so persuasive!

I love this innovation - and the fact that you're playing classical music is wonderful! Keep it up and please, please, keep it classical! I hate the mindless and loud pop music so many shops play, but your choices are really soothing.

i am currently writing my dissertation on art on the underground. its been so much fun visiting metro art around europe. i can honestly say london is pulling ahead of its european neighbours when it comes to providing the public with exciting and innovative art that improves their journeys and gives visitors something to remember. we need this in every station!

Dear Art on the Underground, Our family, three children, my husband, his sister and I were traveling to Paris from London on November 29th and were fortunate enough to be the recipient of Layla Curtis'' Art. We live in the US and were quite enchanted with London and Paris. A trip that we will NEVER forget. One special thing to commemorate our trip of a life-time was this print. You just never know how far-reaching art can be. Thank you so very much.

I greatly enjoyed the latest in a long series of commission at Gloucester Road station. To branch out into three dimensions and be less circumscribed by the exisiting architecture was a very welcome move. Brian Griffith''s work creates a moment of Fellini in circumstances normally less associated with poetic reverie. The installation injects a moment of humor and visual pleasure that seem like a generous gift to all those stressed-out Christmas shoppers.

Coming back from a rare day without children, the exhibition was an unexpected treat, a random collection of intrigue and a enjoyable jolt back to real life after a day of viewing more traditional artforms in the serenity of the VA and Tate - the PA exhibition all the better for it. Even more striking, the posters which are beautiful in their own right. Long may you continue to surprise us!

Re Caledonian Road caledonian road is a fantastic stepping stone for me from home to the world and back. quick hop to soho and friends, short haul to heathrow and the world. good to see the same team, and good union members too. everything shipshape. coming home, i know where to stand on other platforms for the carriage doors to deliver me by the lift entrance, and the a welcome blast of air and weather and home. i remember the king\''s cross fire in 1987, and it could have been me in 2005.

I didn''t connect the poster at Ladbroke Grove to the old caravan i spotted at Gloucester Road several weeks before - but now i have looked online i have all the information.... not that it matters. Both are ingenious and fun. Made me sit up and take notice. Thank you for bringing some fun to the humdrum. I saw the poster again at Northwick Park. I have tried to obtain a poster but they have both gone!! They didn''t stay posted for long. I am disappointed - because apparently they just get thrown away... i thought it would be beneficial to my state of mind to be able to see that poster regularly - like on my wall. Any chance of a poster of Life is a Laugh?

I am a huge fan of Platform for Art and the work that is being done to brighten up the tube. However, I think this piece is very weak compared to previous works at Gloucester Road. I didnt even realise it was finished and it looks a real shambles. My friends and colleagues think the same way. What is the relevance of a huge panda''s head and a caravan?? Im looking forward to this exhibition coming to an end.

Between trains, loitering at Gloucester road - The materials I look at across on the opposite platform are not grand, they''re poor - there’s no bombast. I see an obstacle course where a hop, a skip and a jump landed with a bounce and a flourish. Between trips and falls, daily heroics can result in a light swagger. . thank you.

Life is a Laugh. Unusual to see a public art commission that ambitiously deals with its place in the world. The artwork takes the architectural space and the particular location to make a piece that is oddly in place but wildly absurd. An intelligent and thought provoking artwork that does not fall into the usual clichés of public art commissions, but instead takes these conservative conventions and bends them. A fantastical and bemusing artwork, Jack my son loves it. Well done Platform For Art. Best Regards Astrid Markowski

I loved this exhibition so much, that I went the extra stop to Gloucester Road quite a few times to see it. While I think the new installation is very good, I have to confess to missing Chiho''s work brightening up my day. I eqaully loved the pencil cartoon piece at Piccadilly Circus, but to my shame can''t remember the name of the artist. Have you ever considered working with the artists to take it the next step - working on the inside of carriages, or on a smaller scale oyster card holders even? The idea of being able to have a little reminder of the exhibitions with me everyday would be just fantastic!

Barrie J Davies thinks...
I wanted to write and thank you for all the lovely art interventions I enjoy on my way to work and throughout the journeys I make for various reasons in the city. Currently I''m particularly enjoying the grey poetry pieces which have lots of words scratched out ending with the unscratched out ''you''. Up until the ''you'' I wasn''t sure whether it was a sales piece or an art piece. The moment where I realised it was poetry, not selling me something, was a lovely moment. I actually do enjoy many of the ads for their graphic appeal, but the art offers different headspace and create scores for contemplation and reflection, which is extremely welcome on the busy network. I equally enjoy poems on the tube, and as a South Kensington Museum worker get great pleasure from the evolving programmes at Gloucester Road and the South Kensington tube tunnel. I must tell you there is mass outcry at the takedown of Beatrice''s paintings, which have been much talked about amongst colleagues. With thanks Hannah Redler

This program is an excellent idea! We visited London in March too late for the Chiho Aoshima exhibit, but we were lucky enough to get a copy of the poster. Thanks, tfl, for the wonderful response to our request, and keep up the good work on the art at the tube stations.

I think creative writing within London Transport is a brillant idea. The amount of stories that could be recorded by London Transport workers must be infinite. To encourage people in any work enviroment to exercise their creativity has got to be a good thing.

Chiho Aoshima
The Chiho Aoshima exhibition at Gloucester Road is the highlight of my daily commute. Sometimes during that commute my city way of life seems to be madness, but Aoshima always makes me think of the opportunities for warmth, happiness and friendship here, as much as the fresh air and new life to be found in the country. My girlfriend currently lives in Mexico and the range from country to city parallels the distance between us, but also makes me feel like it''s not that far. Japanese characters like these have childlike joy in spades, and that''s not so far from how our relationship works either.

I have became a great fan of chiho aoshima since visiting the baltic earlier this year. I am a BA media student, so seeing software tools i was just starting to learn used to such grand effect was insperational to me! Her dedication to her art is only higtened by skill nessasary to sucessfully create, and animate, such art using vector drawing tools.

CHIHO AOSHIMA
Absolutely beautiful and probably one of my favorite examples of the Platform for Art programme I've seen. It works so wonderfully in the space - this beautiful glowing art amidst the stone. It always raises a smile when I come into Glouscester Road from the west - and makes up for the s-l-o-w-n-e-s-s of the District and Circle. Thank you so much for commissioning Aoshima for this. GORGEOUS

Chiho Aoshima - City Glow, Mountain Whisper
I've been seeing the posters for this platform art all over London for months, and every time, they caught my eye. I moved to Putney at the weekend, and as I was travelling home on the District Line, I found myself face to face with this amazing art at last, almost by accident. The images are absolutely beautiful - warm, tranquil, fascinating. I can't stop staring at them whenever I go through the station. I know that you can get limited edition prints of 'City Glow' but they cost a fortune. Is there any chance of being able to purchase postcards / small posters of this art? I would dearly love to have a copy of the images to look at after the exhibition has gone.

Truly, the platform art is something I will always remember about visiting London. I cant wait to get back and see whats new on the tube! Great site..keep it going

We made a special trip to go along and stand on the platform opposite to have a proper look. I kept whizzing by on the train and being stunned by it every time. It was good to take some time to take it all in. It's hard to imagine anything better replacing it... As everyone else has said, where are the posters!

Platform for Art is a fabulous project. The world needs more of this! I especially liked the tube map of last year with the David Shrigley cover. Is this work available as a poster or in any other formats? Thanks in advance - Pete

Lovely....
I was visiting London last week and I love this art work... I had a dream where the buildings were talking ( I think I was very tired from travel!) Can posters be purchased of any part of this piece? Its unforgettable, and I wish I could take it home!

What a beautiful work... magical. Chiho should be employed to redesign tube trains and stations! The station should sell posters of this and her other pieces.

City Glow, Mountain Whisper
This is a truly beautiful, thought provoking and life affirming display. After seeing the artwork whilst passing though the station this weekend I made the effort to go back for a proper look. I'm so glad I did. City Glow, Mountain Whisper is a absolutely beautiful artwork. The colours mesmerise whilst the gentleness of the transition from day to night leavers the viewer looking back and wondering when night actually fell. A wonderful, wonderful artwork.

Visiting from New Zealand in August and stayed near Gloucester Rd underground and wondered what the lights were that caught my eye when waiting at the platform. I was supposed to get off at earl's ct. today but heard an announcement about 'district line' and 'Earl's court', so I jumped off the picadilly line at Gloucester Rd and went to the District Line Westbound platform... I suddenly just noticed the most beautiful colours on the wall opposite me - and was mesmerised! Stunning and it made my day!

year of the dog
I dropped off my son at the david beckham academy in north greenwich on monday 24th july. It was his birthday treat and on returning to the station I saw the posters for The Year of the Dog,and was filled with emotion. You see, today, Friday 28th July is my sons birthday and it was also my mothers birthday, something they shared.Sadly my mum died in January this year so this is the first year that the birthday will not be shared. When I saw the pictures of people with their dogs they really got to me.Ihave a pictue of my mother and her dog Bonnie and in her memory I would like to display it somehow. We need more Art and Poetry on London Transport and I loved these posters of people with their dogs.

PforA, highs and lows
I do spend a lot of time on the tube, as sad as that is, but I would like to give credit where its due with regards to the PLatform for Art work I have seen this year. For the most part I feel the work provides very valid stimulation in such a claustrophobic and ad-dominated environment. Unfortuneately I feel that some works waste this chance, the 'poems' if you can call them that. Four words in white on black is hardly going to excite any sort of response on such an alreday grey commute. But on the upside, the recent work at Piccadilly Circus is quite the opposite. I feel all of the works here are of a high standard, positive and interesting. In particular the work by Sinta Tantra. It is bright bold and sriking and the use of the shape of the station walls excellent. I only feel it is a shame that it is in a position where many people may miss it. Something like that on the platform would really brighten the journey, especially with the winter months not a million miles away. More please! Keep up the good work.

Platform for Art is one of the hightlights on an otherwise dull journey. The beautiful pieces of art that appear in odd and unexpected places make me smile to myself. It has become increasingly important to make the underground a place to trust and even sometimes enjoy after last years bombings. Platform for Art fills the underground with hope again

Beatriz Milhazes Tube Stop
Just writing to express how much I am in love with the Beatriz Milhazes tube stop. I visited London back in May and took the tube daily. Everytime we'd stop in Gloucester I'd have to stop what I was saying and gaze at the walls! I am also writing about the poster I saw in the stop promoting the exhibit. The poster was her original drawings, explaining where to put each color. It also promoted the tube, exhibits, and the date. Is there any way I can purchase that poster? That would be the best souvenir from my trip. Thanks for your consideration, Shelley Moen Minneapolis, MN USA

Moment to reflect
After feeling very much like one of the rat race, and being bombarded with adverts from the moment I leave my front door on my hour long commute, it is a welcome break to let something so agenda-free force its way in. I find the work commissioned through Platform for Art varied, thought provoking, and easy to walk away with and mull upon when occupying one's own orbit amidst the throngs. I hope to continue seeing its presence on the underground, in the same way it will continue to see me.

Well done Platform for Art for encouraging such fabulous international artists to inspire us on the dreary commute to work! Bill Fontana's sound installation is really unusual at Southwark and it makes the most of our unique architectural landscape that we have in the city. I think it's really important to engage Londoners in public art and the commissions continue to successfully do just that.

P4Art makes my day
I wanted to write and thank you for all the lovely art interventions I enjoy on my way to work and throughout the journeys I make for various reasons in the city. Currently I'm particularly enjoying the grey poetry pieces which have lots of words scratched out ending with the unscratched out 'you'. Up until the 'you' I wasn't sure whether it was a sales piece or an art piece. I must tell you there is mass outcry at the takedown of Beatrice's paintings, which have been much talked about amongst colleagues. With thanks Hannah Redler
