Qualifications
So what exactly will you need for the Apprenticeship programme? To start with, you must currently be taking your GSCEs. Your GCSEs could be in a variety of subjects but we do ask for a Grade C or above in both Maths and English.
But it’s not just about your academic qualifications. We look for people with the right personal qualities too. Because this is such a team-focused culture, you’ll need to be able to talk to people, and work well with them. You’ll be the kind of person who’s sensitive to customers’ needs and passionate about providing a first-class service for them. We’ll support your progress with regular training, but we want real ‘go-getters’ who are confident dealing with new and different situations, and willing to learn at every opportunity.
Throughout the two years, you’ll undertake a programme of study that means something, one that’s relevant to your daily activities in the Underground and will lead to an NVQ. And unlike, college, you’ll receive a salary in the process. You’ll also be happy to wear a uniform.
