Refunds
If you have made an overpayment or wish to cancel a Low Emission Zone (LEZ) payment for a future date, you may apply for a refund.
You may also apply if you paid the daily charge but can provide evidence you were waiting for the delivery of a new vehicle, pollution abatement equipment or a Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) test.
Vehicles affected from February 2008
We may refund any daily charges paid until 4 August 2008 if you show you tried to meet the required emissions standards before 4 February.
Vehicles affected from July 2008
We may refund any daily charges paid until 7 September 2008 if you show you tried to meet the required emissions standards before 7 July.
What you will need to provide
New vehicles
- Evidence of when the vehicle was ordered and when it was delivered
Abatement equipment
- A copy of a Reduced Pollution Certificate or Low Emissions Certificate issued by VOSA to prove compliance and
- A copy of an order receipt from the abatement equipment supplier dated before the scheme applied to your vehicle, confirming your order and any deposit paid. This must include details of the vehicle, the device, the date of order and the date of expected fitting
VOSA test
- A copy of a Low Emissions Certificate issued by VOSA to prove compliance and
- Evidence that you booked your test with VOSA before the scheme applied to your vehicle and that the test was scheduled within the published VOSA forward booking times
TfL will review any evidence provided and assess each case on its merits.
