Barclays Cycle Superhighways / Extending route 2
Barclays Cycle Superhighway route 2 has now been extended along Stratford High Street, providing a direct and convenient route between Aldgate and Stratford.
We've introduced a series of innovative safety features, including:
- Three kilometres of segregated cycle lane
- Six bus stop bypasses
- A two-stage right turn
- A cycle early start
Six Bus Stop BypassSix bus stop bypasses have now been implemented along the extension. A bus stop bypass provides a continued, segregated cycle lane, which allows cyclists to avoid buses (as the vehicles pull in and out of a bus stop) and other traffic.

Two-Stage Right Turn
A new two-stage right turn for cyclists provides a safer way to turn right into Warton Road or Rick Roberts Way from Stratford High Street.

Cycle Early Start
A cycle early start is now in use at the south-east corner of Bow roundabout. The cycle early start feature allows cyclists to wait ahead of other queuing traffic and enter the roundabout first.
