We return to the popular trails within Cannock Chase. This weekend and the entire route stays within the confines of the Cannock Chase Forest. Utilising the numerous bridleways that criss-cross the area and several sections of the excellent man-made Chase trails, we make full use of the beautiful forest scenery, this promises to be a great day out in the saddle!

We begin the ride at the heart of the Cannock Chase Forest. After a loop of the tree lined roads surrounding the area we head North out of Rugeley and over the Blithfield reservoir. From here we pass Bagot Forest and on to the Buttermilk Hill followed by the descent of Marchington Cliff. The return route comes back via the scenic back roads to the north of the Forest.

Taking a circular route around the town of Epping and including some of the beautiful ancient woodland that surround the area. This route has a mixture of all weather surfaced bridleways and more natural terrain making this ride a great scenic route for all abilities. Expect some short sharp climbs and descents.

Leaving the event centre in Epping, we skirt around the town before heading into the countryside and miles of open roads. It’s quite a surprise how many quiet lanes can be found just outside the M25 and to remind you where you are, we cross the motorway so you can feel smug looking at all those tin cans sitting on the tarmac as you pedal off with the wind in your hair! The level 2 grading of this course means that there are no major hills on this route - it's just a blast through the Hainault and Epping forest roads and it will be a great workout!
