  3. Big Green Bike Ride - London to Edinburgh

    2012 will see the first Spin to Cure diabetes at the iconic Canary Wharf. Situated outside Canary Wharf tube station, this event promises to test even the fittest of competitors and challenge teams of five to an eight minute Spin off. Teams taking on the challenge at Canary Wharf will compete against teams at our other London Spin event outside The Royal Exchange in the City.     Thames Bridges Bike Ride 2012 will be featuring three routes, extended, standard and family. The extended route measures 50 miles, and starting in Southwark Park will follow along the standard route but will divert around Regents and Hyde park before rejoining and continuing on to Hurst park.* The standard route features the most bridges it ever has, 16, and remains 33 miles in distance.     2 days, 180 miles, 2,500 riders, 1 iconic city. Day 1 takes riders along 100 miles of scenic back roads from the Isle of Dogs round to Royal Windsor before arriving at our overnight camp and party. Here riders doing the full 2 days will enjoy a cracking night of music, bars, dinner and a few other secret cycling attractions. The next morning ride South and East for another 80 miles before crossing Tower Bridge to finish on Sunday afternoon. It’s fully supported and suitable for those new to cycling as well as elite.

Taking place on Sunday the 27th of May, the 113 mile challenge takes in over 10 killer climbs in the South East’s iconic road cycling areas totalling over 9,000 ft of the North Downs, the Surrey Hills, Ashdown Forest and the lumps and bumps scattered through East Surrey & Kent. And for those looking for a shorter (but just as tough) challenge there's the 56 mile half sportive option.
