Graduate schemes
Our graduates today will be our leaders tomorrow - so we realise the importance of investing in your professional growth and development.
Whichever scheme you join, we'll help you increase your skills and confidence so that you're prepared for your next role at the end of the programme.
Placements
As a graduate, you'll take part in several placements, each lasting three to six months. Rising to a broad range of challenges in each, the skills you'll learn will help form the foundations of your career.
They'll also give you the opportunity to work on real projects in real situations. You'll get to see how your chosen business area meets its goals, and your placement managers and sponsors will review your progress to make sure that you're on track.
Support and networking
Our people are experts at what they do. So who better to learn from? As a TfL graduate you'll have a strong network of colleagues around you, supporting your growth and progress.
In each scheme, you'll get to talk to a range of people in different roles.
- Sponsor: Owns the content and processes for each scheme
- Placement manager: Ensures your placements have objectives and are challenging
- Development schemes team: Ensures that schemes are working effectively, that your development needs are being met, and that you have someone to turn to for advice
- Buddy: Acts as your friend and confidante
- Mentor: Helps you gain confidence and challenges your thinking
- Peers: The people with whom you'll build a support network
Learning and development
At every step of the way, you'll be supported by a structured programme of learning. You'll develop skills that are specialist to your chosen area, as well as more general business skills that will help you throughout your career.
We have an excellent in-house learning and development team, and an in-house e-Learning catalogue that has been created with our graduates in mind. Our library is stocked with a range of research tools and you're free to use specialist learning materials from external suppliers.
