About the scheme

Talented HR professionals fuel our passion and our progress. Not only developing and implementing initiatives on a strategic level, but offering the support and direction we need to recruit, train and reward outstanding people.

Whether you're interested in employee relations, operations, learning and development or any other angle of HR, you'll benefit from our full support as you work towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

Placements

Join this area of our business and you'll take part in placements across the organisation. You'll make a real contribution to innovative plans and get invaluable practical experience through a series of four to eight month placements.

Further education and professional studies

We'll provide all the support you need to work towards membership of the CIPD.
As well as the opportunity to develop business and management skills through the wider TfL graduate programme. This could include short courses in subjects such as influencing, negotiation and presentation skills, project management and other relevant subjects.

Duration

Two years.

Entry requirements

You'll need a 2:1 honours degree in any subject, although ideally in human resources or a business-related subject. An understanding of human resources will be essential for the application and assessment process.

If you're successful you'll have to pass pre-employment checks before joining. These will include reference checks, qualifications checks, right to work in the UK and in some cases a medical and a Criminal Records Bureau check.

Applications

Our graduate applications open on Monday 5 October 2009 and we recruit on a rolling basis. This means that when we have sufficient number of applications to fill positions for particular schemes, we will then close that particular application track. Therefore, applying as early as possible is vital, particularly if you want to apply for your preferred scheme.
