Later Weekend Tube
One Hour Later
Read the Mayor's latest statement on Later Weekend Tubes
Following feedback from the public and stakeholders, we've made a decision to change the start and finish times of the Tube at weekends.
We altered the original One Hour Later proposal in response to concerns raised through consultation. After seeking views on an alternative Half an Hour Later scheme the decision has now been made:
When the proposal is implemented, the Tube will:
- Run half an hour later on Friday and Saturday nights
- Start one hour later on Saturday mornings
- Remain unchanged on Sunday mornings
Friday and Saturday nights
When the proposal is implemented, last trains will leave the west end at around 01:00 instead of 00:30 on Friday and Saturday nights.
A small group of stations currently close earlier than others. These include stations on the Metropolitan line north of Harrow-on-the-Hill; Bakerloo line north of Queen's Park; intermediate stations on the Woodford-Hainault loop of the Central line; and Heathrow T4, Kensington Olympia and Cannon Street.

Some sections of track and stations are owned and controlled by Network Rail and/or National Rail train operating companies and we are discussing how to apply the scheme to them.
Saturday and Sunday mornings
When the proposal is implemented, the Tube will start running one hour later on Saturday mornings, with first trains arriving in central London at around 07:00.
Sundays would remain unchanged. This means first trains will still arrive at central London stations at around 07:30.
