Bus route changes
The diversions are split between Denmark Street and Shaftesbury Avenue to best serve bus passengers, minimise impacts on local streets, and keep services running as smoothly as possible.

Route 176
This route now terminates and sets down at Tottenham Court Road station instead of Oxford Circus. The first pick up southbound is from St Giles High Street. It then continues into Denmark Street and left into Charing Cross Road.
The shortening of route 176 commenced on Saturday 3 January 2009 to enable preliminary works to Andrew Borde Street.
Routes 24, 29, N29 and N279
These routes have been re-routed via Bloomsbury Street, Princes Circus into St Giles High Street, Denmark Street and left into Charing Cross Road.
Routes 14, N5 and N20
These routes have been re-routed via Bloomsbury Street, Shaftesbury Avenue and at Princes Circus to carry straight down to Shaftesbury Avenue to Cambridge Circus.
Routes 19, 38, N19, N38 and N41
These routes continue along High Holborn and then divert down along Shaftesbury Avenue.
Routes 242 and 134
Minor changes have been made to routes 242 and 134. Route 242 westbound continues along High Holborn from Holborn Underground station to Princes Circus and terminates on St Giles High Street instead of New Oxford Street by Centrepoint.
Route 134 southbound continues from Bloomsbury Street across New Oxford Street and right into St Giles High Street instead of travelling along New Oxford Street and terminating at Centrepoint.
New bus stops
New bus stops have been provided on St Giles High Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. New and relocated stands are accommodating buses which terminate in St Giles High Street and Earnshaw Street.
These diversions were implemented following consultation with local stakeholders and the community and will be kept under constant review.

Walking
The following changes have been made to walking routes in the area:
- Andrew Borde Street is closed
- Charing Cross Road east side between Denmark Place and New Oxford Street is closed
- Two entrances to Tottenham Court Road station have been closed

The southbound bus lane on Charing Cross Road is closed.
