Transport for London

Bond Street

A new entrance, ticket hall and step-free access to platforms . . . it will be all go at Bond Street if our improvement plans go ahead.

Proposed improvements

We want to introduce:

The station will compliment Crossrail and other transport services in the Bond Street area.

Background

We're working with Crossrail to improve the station. It is served by both Central and Jubilee lines and is visited by about 125,000 customers every day. When Crossrail is introduced we expect the number of daily customers to increase to approximately 224,000.

The Crossrail Parliamentary Bill received Royal Assent on 22 July 2008, after completing all its parliamentary stages, becoming the Crossrail Act 2008. The Act gives permission for Crossrail to be built, operated and maintained. It also gives London Underground (LU) permission to improve Bond Street station, as described above.

An outline of the works taking place within Westminster is set out in the context report below. This report gives a description of the works and sets out a future programme for the requests for approval from Westminster City Council for the detailed planning required under the Crossrail Act.
