Objectives
The work will focus on increasing capacity in the Victoria line areas and related facilities at the Underground station. These are the areas which will be most affected when passenger numbers increase.
Our main objectives are to:
- Reduce severe congestion and delay experienced during peak periods
- Provide more convenient access from the north and east of the station
- Provide step-free access between platforms and street for customers who are mobility impaired.
Regeneration
Improving the station will also help regenerate the area
Improving Victoria Underground station will also help efforts to regenerate the area. Local landowners have their own development proposals for the area and we are working closely with them.
