Transport for London

King's Cross St Pancras

Western Ticket Hall in operation The new western ticket hall The transformation of London's oldest and busiest Underground station into a contemporary hub for international and domestic rail services will be complete by 2010.

The redevelopment of King's Cross St Pancras Tube station is being done in two phases.

Completed phase one

Phase one involved the construction of a new Western ticket hall, giving direct access to the Circle and Metropolitan lines and to St Pancras International.

The Northern ticket hall will serve international and domestic rail services. It also completes the provision of step-free access to all Tube platforms.

It also saw the refurbishment and enlargement of the Tube ticket hall and the Metropolitan and Circle line concourse.

This has led to increased capacity, better interchanges and improved accessibility to what is now a gateway to Europe, following the opening of the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras International in November 2007.

Phase two

In the second phase of the redevelopment project we are constructing a Northern ticket hall to the west of King's Cross mainline station, providing direct access to the Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria line platforms.

We will also deliver step-free access to the six Underground lines that are available from the station.
