Covent Garden

Covent Garden tube station Great news - Covent Garden station is back to normal and you can now enter and exit.

Although we'll still be doing a bit of cosmetic work early in 2008, our main work to reduce overcrowding is finished.

As a result of the work, you will experience a quicker entry and exit, more space, and faster service.

Quicker entry and exit

We moved the old ticket gates forward and added five new ones. This means more people can exit the station at the same time so it will be much less crowded.

More space

We also removed commercial space so there's more room for customers.

Faster service

Our staff can help you more quickly now thanks to a new station supervisor's office in the ticket hall. This will also make it safer and more secure.

Future work

We want to carry on improving the station to make it safer, more secure and accessible, not to mention improve the overall look and environment.

The work is all part of our £10bn investment programme.
