Why we're carrying out this work
South Bridge does not meet current safety standards for collision loading, so we have installed temporary safety barriers to prevent accidental vehicle damage.
Waldegrave Road Bridge was assessed as not having enough strength to support current loading standards and a temporary overbridge was installed to support the traffic using Hanger Lane. A temporary structure has been in place for many years for road traffic.
Who we've been talking to
We consulted on this proposal before being granted planning approval for the scheme from Ealing Council.
We continue to work closely with the London Borough of Ealing, local stakeholder groups and residents' associations, and our network assurance team to evaluate the project's impact on the roads.
We are confident that the capacity of Hanger Lane and surrounding roads will be maintained throughout the project.
