A406 Hanger Lane bridges

We are replacing Waldegrave Road Bridge and South Bridge on the A406 Hanger Lane in Ealing.

The bridges do not meet current safety standards and are nearing the end of their useful lives.

Contractors will have access to the site from late August 2008 and the works will take approximately 18 months.

Benefits

There will be improved footways and improved cycle paths.

While we are working on the two bridges, we will take the opportunity to improve safety and access on this stretch of Hanger Lane. This will include:

The new bridges will ensure the safety of the railway tracks below and will also mean that improvements can be made to the road layout and crossing arrangements.

Disruption

While this work is carried out, traffic flows on Hanger Lane and rail services beneath the bridges will be maintained. Pedestrian and vehicle access to local properties will remain during the replacement works.

Our partners

The construction contract for this project has been awarded to Norwest Holst. The project is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
