Street network planning

cyclist We are working to improve London's streets for everyone to use and enjoy. To help us achieve this we have introduced a network management planning (NMP) approach to managing 49 of London's main roads.

What the work will involve

The NMP approach aims to help us achieve a better balance in meeting the needs of all road users from cyclists and pedestrians to bus passengers and drivers.

To achieve this we will be working with London's boroughs, utility companies, local interest groups and the public to identify issues on the 49 roads, and will consult on possible solutions.

Solutions might range from improved road safety measures to environmental enhancements. Schemes will then be designed to meet the identified needs and fit the available budgets.
