What's happening now
We are developing the detailed design for the scheme based on the preferred option, which we consulted on in 2007. You can view a map of the preferred option (PDF 1MB).
Construction is likely to start late in early 2009, with some advance improvement work being carried out on Cranbrook Road North.
This work includes carriageway widening, granite kerbing, footway reconstruction and widening, improved bus and cycle facilities, improved parking, taxi and loading facilities and minor drainage maintenance.
This is scheduled to be complete by the end of summer 2008.
