New bridge at Shoreditch High Street

Rail bridge

In March 2008, Britain's biggest crane was used to deliver a new bridge to Shoreditch High Street.

The bow-string bridge, which weighs 300 tonnes and resembles an archer's bow, will form a crucial part of the new East London line.

Western extension

We have not yet secured funding for the all stations service running west from Surrey Canal Road to Clapham Junction. However we have preserved powers for construction from the first phase of the extension.
