Benefits
Artist's impression of a new station at Shoreditch
The East London line extension will form part of the London Overground, an orbital railway around London. Connecting 20 of London's 33 boroughs, one in five Londoners will live within 15 minutes walk of an Overground station.
Fast, frequent trains
There'll be trains every 5 minutes through the central section from Dalston Junction to Surrey Quays, an increase of 60 per cent.
Oyster
You'll be able to use Oyster pay as you go.
Safety and security
We're working with local boroughs to improve areas around stations as well
Station staff, CCTV and customer Help points will improve station safety and security. We'll also be working with local boroughs to improve areas around stations so you can feel confident to continue your journey safely.
Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use the East London line, which is why all trains will have dedicated wheelchair bays, and new stations will be step-free and have lifts.
