Route 23
Taking into account all responses and having considered associated bus stop and junction alterations, we have concluded that the change to route 23 should not proceed.
Key consultation issues
- For those supporting the change, the most common benefit was seen to be fewer buses along Elgin Crescent. These respondents considered any reduction of buses on the road to be a great benefit and felt that some traffic management issues could be alleviated by this change
- Respondents not supporting the change gave a number of reasons for their opposition, the most common being safety concerns at the junction of Ladbroke Grove and Ladbroke Gardens. The second most common issue was the general suitability of Ladbroke Gardens to accommodate a bus service
- A number of respondents opposed the possible removal of the bus stop at the junction of Elgin Crescent and Portobello Road. The stop is considered important in providing access to shops and amenities on Portobello Road to both residents and tourists.
