Routes 398 and 395
Results
Having reviewed the responses received, and made some changes to the proposals as a result, we have decided to proceed.
The new pattern of service will come into effect on 5 September 2009.
This change will provide:
- A more frequent seven day a week service for many passengers, with earlier and later buses
- New links from Castle Road and the Racecourse Estate to Harrow
- A bus service for Wood End Estate for the first time
This will be achieved by:
- Changing route 398 to run from Ruislip to South Harrow and Northolt Park as before, then diverting it to finish at Wood End Estate
- Creating new route 395 to run seven days a week from Greenford (Westway Cross) as current route 398 to South Harrow, then to Harrow Town Centre
Route 395 will be operated by Metroline, and will run every 20 minutes during Monday to Saturday daytimes and every 30 minutes during evenings and Sundays.
In response to comments made during consultation, new route 395 will continue to serve Eastcote Lane as route 398 did, and will finish two hours earlier than originally proposed, at about 22:00, on all nights of the week.
Route 398 will be operated by Transdev, and will continue to run every 30 minutes during the daytime on Mondays to Saturdays. There will still be no Sunday Service.
