Future improvements

Better, safer stations and new trains - it's all coming. You will enjoy even more benefits as we carry out long-term investment valued at £1.4bn.

More trains

from 2011 (four per hour - all day, every day) so you will be able to 'turn up and go'.

Better stations

from 2008 - more Help points and CCTV, not to mention improved lighting and customer information systems. We want you to feel welcome and secure in a clean, safe environment.

Brand new trains

from 2009, featuring:

An extended East London line

with four new step-free stations at Haggerston, Hoxton, Shoreditch High Street and Dalston Junction in 2010.

A fast, frequent and reliable service

from 2010, following improvements to signals, tracks and points.

An integrated network

when we join the extended East London line to the North London line at Highbury & Islington in 2011.

We will let you know at stations and online about any disruptions to your services while we make these improvements.
