You will notice improvements to your service from the first day it operates. Find out exactly what's happening when.

Improved safety and security

with staff at every station during train operating hours to improve customer service and passenger security

Oyster pay as you go

accepted at all stations on the network. We have fitted all stations with Oyster ticket machines and readers so you can touch in and touch out. You can travel free if you have a Freedom pass or if you are under 11 and travelling with an adult with a valid ticket.

Future improvements

Better, safer stations, new trains. It's all coming

You will enjoy even more benefits as we carry out longer term investment costing a whopping £1.4 billion. This will provide:

Trains run earlier and later

from December 2007. And from 2011 we'll be running more trains (four every hour, all day, every day) so you can just "turn up and go"

Better stations

from 2008 - more Help points and CCTV, not to mention improved lighting and customer information systems. We want you to feel welcome and secure in a clean, safe environment

Brand new trains

from 2008

An extended East London line

with four new step-free stations at Haggerston, Hoxton, Shoreditch High Street and Dalston Junction in 2010

An integrated network

when we join the extended East London line to the North London line at Highbury and Islington in 2011

We will let you know at stations and online about any disruptions to your services whilst we make all these improvements.
