Transport for London

Eligibility

My child is taught at home. Can I apply for tickets?

The scheme is based around school parties and in doing so we rely on the school to ensure that the trip is undertaken in accordance with DfES guidelines.

The scheme is not intended to cater for home teaching where the trip may involve only one or two children with a parent.

In some cases, however, home teachers belong to a local home teachers association. Where such an association exists and documentary evidence can be provided to this effect, we will consider applications from the association for a group visit, subject to the standard conditions of the scheme.

Why is my school not listed on this website?

The initial data-feed for schools listed on the online application form was provided by the respective Local Education Authorities.

To be eligible to participate in the scheme, your school, college or home teaching association must be located within the GLA area, and be teaching the National Curriculum or Further Education subjects (e.g: A Levels).

The scheme is open to all types of school (state, independent, grant-maintained, etc, and including recognised summer schools and home teaching associations), provided they meet the above criteria. However, TfL reserve the right to refuse an application to participate in the scheme.

It is the responsibly of the school to make sure that all address and contact details provided to the scheme are correct and up to date. TfL is not responsible for the loss of any tickets thereof.

If you would like your establishment added to the web-site, please contact Customer Services, London Underground by phone on 020 7918 3954, or by e-mail, stating its name and address in full, and the borough in which it is located.
