Transport for London

Kender Street triangle

Kender Street area You should enjoy the best transport and environment along New Cross Road, Queen's Road, Besson Street and Kender Street. After all they are your roads.

Kender Street and Besson Street would be re-designed to become local roads to remove heavy traffic. We would also improve footpaths and put in place a maximum speed limit of 20mph.

We want to make New Cross Road and Queen's Road two-way, extend the bus lanes and change some junctions.

Benefits

The changes will improve the environment for everyone

At the moment these roads are part of a complex and overcrowded one-way system, dividing and isolating the community, and causing accidents, pollution and noise. The road layout also creates a feeling of isolation for the local community.

All of the changes we are planning would improve the environment for pedestrians, cyclists, bus users, road users, residents and businesses.
