Transport for London

Kings Cross St. Pancras

The new ticket hall The new ticket hall The transformation of London's oldest and busiest Underground station into a contemporary hub for international and domestic rail services will be complete by 2010.

The new 'Northern' ticket hall at the station will open on Sunday 29 November 2009.

The redevelopment of King's Cross St. Pancras Tube station is being done in two phases.

Ongoing phase two

In the second phase of the redevelopment project we are constructing the Northern ticket hall to the west of King's Cross mainline station, providing direct access and step-free access to the Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria line platforms.

The Northern ticket hall will serve international and domestic services at St. Pancras International station, and domestic services at King's Cross mainline station.

Additional work is underway to modernise existing areas of the Underground station.

Completed phase one

Phase one involved the construction of the new Western ticket hall, giving direct access to the Circle and Metropolitan lines and to St. Pancras International.

It also saw the refurbishment and enlargement of the Tube ticket hall and the Metropolitan and Circle line concourse.

This has led to increased capacity, better interchanges and improved accessibility to what is now a gateway to Europe, following the opening of the Eurostar terminal at St. Pancras International in November 2007.
