Children's safety
Off on the right foot
Keeping children safe is our number one priority. We believe the best way to do this is to teach them road safety from a very early age. What's more, educating children today creates responsible road users for the future.
Here are some examples of how we tailor our road safety message to youngsters of all ages:
- 3-4 years
Our Children's Traffic Club uses interactive DVDs, activity books and fun activities to teach pre-school children simple but vital road safety skills.
- 9-11 years
With the Junior Road Safety Officer (JRSO) scheme, children play an active role in road safety lessons at hundreds of London schools. For example, by running competitions, making posters and taking turns to be their school's Road Safety Officer.
- Teens
To alert teenagers to the dangers of not paying attention on or near roads, we launched our new Stop Think Live ad campaign. Supported by famous faces like Rizzle Kicks, each poster shows a young person dead after they were distracted by a mobile phone or MP3 player when crossing the road.
