Crossrail
Crossrail will provide high frequency, safe and comfortable journeys, carrying 78,000 passengers per hour in peak times.
Construction has already started, with the central section expected to be complete by the end of 2018.

Work has started at the following locations:
Bond Street
Redeveloped station will serve both the Tube and Crossrail. Temporary changes to traffic, including bus diversions, are in place while we work on the station.
Tottenham Court Road
Two new ticket halls will link through to Tube and Crossrail services. The eastern ticket hall will open in 2016 to serve both Northern and Central line trains. Northern line services will not stop at Tottenham Court Road until November 2011 (still open for Central line).
Canning Town
New Custom House Crossrail station will be built. Utility diversion work has started along Victoria Dock Road. Bus routes 147, 241 N551 are being diverted.
Liverpool Street
New Crossrail station will have entrances at Moorgate and Liverpool Street. We're working from four major sites at Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Blomfield Street and Finsbury Circus. Temporary changes to local travel arrangements are in place.
Paddington
New Crossrail station will have improved taxi facilities and new interchange facilities with rail and Tube services and buses. Preparation work has started on Eastbourne Terrace.
