The proposed contra-flow bus and cycle lane would be between the junctions of Prince of Wales Drive and Cambridge Road, continuing into an offside bus lane approaching the junction with Battersea Park Road, with buses/cyclists permitted to make a direct right turn at the junction.
The benefits of the scheme would include reduced journey times, improved reliability for buses, improved safety and accessibility for cyclists as well as improvements in pedestrian facilities.

Next steps
We have decided not to take forward the current proposal at this time.
We reached this decision after carefully considering the results of the consultation and reviewing all the responses received.
The consultation process demonstrated that there was overall support in favour of the proposed measures, but it also highlighted a number of issues that would require further investigation and analysis.
In this instance, there are other operational and transport planning factors, such as major works in the area, which means it is not possible to investigate some of the issues raised at this present time. Therefore, TfL has decided not to take forward the current proposal at this time.
Any decision to re-examine the scheme would be dependent on funding being made available and on the transport priorities for the area at the time.
If we revisit the scheme at a later date we will carry out a further consultation on the amended plans with local residents and businesses.
