Transport for London has recently responded to a Network Rail's Consultation on the Greater Anglia Route Utilisation Strategy (GARUS). The detailed response can be accessed via the link below.
TfL is in broad agreement with the majority of the conclusions set out in the GARUS. However, TfL's response underlines that it is essential that development options for this part of the network take account of the planned demand growth and the needs of all rail users whether they are airport passengers, London commuters or freight traffic. As a result TfL believes that all industry stakeholders must work in close co-ordination to ensure these objectives are met for what is an extremely important part of the rail network not only for London, but for Stansted Airport and East Anglia as a whole.
