Transport for London

Opening hours return at Bond Street

24 November 2011

Bond Street Tube station has returned to standard opening hours.

The early closing times, in place since June, allowed the removal of escalators installed in 1920 - some of the oldest on the Underground network - and concrete debris.

Work to replace the two escalators will continue at a separate worksite within the station.

The extended engineering hours helped ensure that the new escalators are in place for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
