Auto Pay hits the mark
Drivers who register to use the system are no longer at risk of fines.
As a result, it is now the most popular way to pay.
Auto Pay users nominate a credit or debit card and pay for the days they travel within the Congestion Charging zone.
The scheme gives motorists a £1 discount on their £10 daily fee.
Since the launch of Auto Pay in January, more than three million payments have been processed, with more than 200,000 vehicles signed up - drivers can register up to five vehicles on the scheme.
Transport for London's Director of Congestion Charging, Nick Fairholme, said: 'We are delighted that so many people have signed up for accounts. Drivers who do so are saving money and safe in the knowledge that they will never be fined for forgetting to pay.'
To register for an Auto Pay account - which includes a £10 annual fee for each vehicle on the account - drivers will need a credit or debit card.
