Dont be a turkey - book your coach trip early!
Approximately 63,000 people will arrive at or depart from the station every day in the week running up to Christmas. This figure represents double the normal daily total using the station, more than four times the capacity of Wimbledon's Centre Court and one and a half times the capacity of Chelsea's Stamford Bridge Stadium. Many of the last departures on the long distance services, whether to the continent or within the UK, will depart from London before midday to enable people to get to their destinations.
Paul Blackwell, Victoria Coach Station General Manager, said:
"Last year, passengers were arriving too late for services, or joining the huge last-minute queues for tickets and ended up staying in London over Christmas. We want to make sure that all people intending to travel by coach with us this year have a smooth, trouble-free journey. Buying your ticket in advance will certainly help you avoid delays on the day and make sure you get to your destination."
Tickets can be booked in person at the ticket office, which opens daily from 6.00am to 11.30pm for both UK and European destinations, or over the telephone on 020 7730 3499 from 8.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday. The large coach operators always monitor their bookings several days in advance and can arrange for more services to be laid on if necessary.
