Taxi Rank in Oxford Street outside Selfridges

09 December 2004

PCO Notice 21/04 published on 24 August raised concern about over-ranking at the Selfridges rank and indicated that the rank was at risk of removal if this practice continued. Despite this, over-ranking is still occurring on a regular basis. This creates difficulties for buses and bus passengers using the adjacent stop.

Taxi drivers are reminded that this taxi rank is only available for 2 taxis. Enforcement of the regulations will be undertaken by the Metropolitan Police and Police Community Support Officers. Failure to adhere to the regulations may affect the future of this rank.
