South Ruislip station to be refurbished and improved

Refurbishment works to improve South Ruislip station will be underway shortly as part of TfL's five-year £10bn investment programme, and are due to be completed in May 2006.

Help points will be installed as part of the improvement programme

Metronet Rail BCV, the company undertaking the refurbishment works has applied to London Underground for a closure of the ticket office from 15 January to 13 March 2006; permission is yet to be granted.

Customers are not expected to experience any other disruptions while improvement works take place.

Refurbishment works will include the building of a new station control room, the restoration of heritage features, the replacement of all CCTV cameras, the installation of new information display panels, customer Help points, new signage, an enhanced public address system, tactile strips and contrasting handrails for the partially sighted.

All cabling will be concealed and the station will be provided with improved lighting.
