Bridges share anniversary

Today, Twickenham Bridge and its sister at Chiswick celebrate their diamond anniversaries.

Both the bridges were built 75 years ago to improve traffic flow across the Thames.

New bus services launch

Stratford, Clapton and Bow are to benefit from a new bus route, which launches this Saturday.

The new 425 bus route will run from Stratford to Clapton Pond via Bow, Mile End and Victoria Park, with Homerton Hospital and Well Street Market among its stops.

A new route replacing the old S2, which will no longer operate, begins the same day.

The 488 service will run between Clapton and Bromleyby- Bow, along much of the S2 route, except that it won't go to Stratford.

Customers for Stratford will be able to use the 425 bus, or the existing 108 and 276 routes.

Meanwhile, the 276 bus service will be enhanced to include Bow Road, Fairfield Road, Parnell Road and Wansbeck Road.

All aboard for London Pride

Saturday sees Pride London 2008 revellers coming to central London.
