Bridge works to affect road traffic

01 July 2008

Bridge replacement works on the East London line are to begin on 19 July.

The bridge will enable a crucial link to be built between the new East London line extension and the existing London Overground network.

During the work there will be traffic restrictions on Dalston Lane between the junctions of Queensbridge Road and Kingsland Road.

These are expected to last for 10 months.

Initially, the restrictions will see the closure of the bridge's southern footpath for around four months.

Then in November, traffic will be reduced to one lane eastbound for two months.

All westbound traffic, including buses, will be diverted from Dalston Lane along Queensbridge Road, Richmond Road and Kingsland High Street.

Transport for London is asking residents in the Dalston area for their patience while the bridge is replaced.
