The big screen - at a Tube station near you

01 July 2008

Tube passengers can now watch trailers of the latest film releases on giant screens while waiting for their train.

The new cross-track projection system will show 14-foot high digital images on the walls opposite platforms at 23 sites.

It follows a successful trial at Euston station and has now been rolled out to Piccadilly Circus, Bank, Liverpool Street and Bond Street stations.

Further stations are scheduled to host the technology, which will take the number of screens to 150.

Any profits London Underground receives from advertising on the screens will be reinvested to improve the Tube.
