Improvements in Brixton

09 June 2008

The second phase of work to transform Brixton town centre is underway.

The three-phase project is part of Transport for London's £10bn Investment Programme and will make it easier for pedestrians and public transport users to move around the town centre.

Among the improvements will be new bus lanes to reduce traffic congestion, carriageway re-surfacing for smoother rides, wider pavements for better journeys by foot, and improved pedestrian crossings.

The works will be underway until March 2009.
