Bikes and boots go with the flow
The new routes will provide safe and easy access to the Westbourne Green area of the canal.
Due to open next month, they are part of British Waterways' £500,000 green makeover.
The section of the canal being upgraded stretches from Harrow Road to Mary Magdalene's Church.
In addition to the improved cycle and walking routes, the area will host an open air Green Campus, where people can learn more about the environment in a beautiful canalside setting.
Once complete, the Green Campus will include a 'human sundial', outdoor classrooms, a butterfly garden and a mooring point for an educational barge.
Future plans for the area include a recycling education area, to teach visitors about the best practices for recycling, composting and energy usage, and a community garden.
Transport for London has provided £150,000 to the project as part of its Cycling on Greenways programme.
