Improvement works at Canons Park

10 June 2008

Canons Park station is undergoing a refurbishment as part of London Underground's (LU's) Investment Programme.

The project involves restoring heritage features; installing new CCTV cameras, a PA system, passenger Help points and new electronic indicator boards on platforms and in the ticket hall; and updating signage throughout the station.

Walls and floors are being painted and re-tiled, and seating areas are being improved.

To help visually impaired passengers, tactile strips are being added on platforms and stairs.

Induction loops are also being fitted for hearing impaired passengers.

LU will take advantage of planned weekend station closures to carry out the refurbishment work.

These are currently scheduled for 5/6 July, 16/17 and 23/24 August, 20/21 September and 1/2 November.

In addition, there will be track closures on 13/14 and 27/28 September this year, as well further works early next year.

During these times the ticket office will be closed, so passengers should use alternative Tube and bus routes.

Customers without a valid ticket should use the local Oyster ticket stop.
